New York: Dinesen Apartment by David Thulstrup

The new Dinesen Apartment by David Thulstrup in Brooklyn, New York, is a temporary showroom and immersive space, presenting Danish design in a residential context where architecture, interiors and craft merge seamlessly. Every element reflects a dedication to materiality and detail. The result is a space that feels less like a showroom and more like a lived-in home, inviting visitors to experience wood, colour and light in an intimate, everyday setting.

At the heart of the apartment is Dinesen Layers Oak, extending from floors to cladding, staircase and built-in furniture, with Layers HeartOak adding depth and character. The interiors combine Thulstrup’s own designs with works by John Pawson, vintage Danish icons and carefully selected contemporary pieces.

For this project, Blēo colours play a defining role. Walls are painted in DA TH 01 Suede, DA TH 07 Sand, and DA TH 08 Titian — three tones developed by David Thulstrup for Blēo — their nuanced pigments softening the light and complementing the calm warmth of Dinesen’s oak surfaces.
