Blēo, from the Old English for “colour, hue, or complexion”, is a Copenhagen-founded surface brand established in 2024. Working with leading architects, designers, and artists, Blēo develops architectural colours across paint and tile. Rather than developing colours in isolation, Blēo collaborates with a number of highly defined creative voices, each invited to create a distinct palette rooted in their own spatial language. Some collaborators are internationally established; others represent a new generation of emerging practices. What connects them is not scale, but clarity, a precise and personal understanding of how colour behaves in space.

The approach is rooted in curation rather than scale, offering composed palettes as an alternative to standardised systems, making colour easier to use and more considered to live with. Each colour is built from multiple pigments, creating depth and subtle variation as tones shift with light and context. Paint and tile are treated as one continuous surface, developed in dialogue with material, glaze and form. Blēo is building a platform where established and emerging voices contribute to a more precise and contemporary understanding of colour — as atmosphere, architecture and a natural part of everyday space.
