Launch of La Bottega Italiana by Formafantasma at 3daysofdesign, 2025
During 3daysofdesign and Copenhagen Design Week, Blēo presented an exhibition exploring colour, finish and materiality in our showroom at Borgergade 20 in Copenhagen.
At the centre of the exhibition was La Bottega Italiana, a collection of fourteen colours developed with Formafantasma. Inspired by Italian craftsmanship, materials and the subtle patina of time, the palette was presented as large painted surfaces in both Blēo’s ULTRA MATTE and HIGH GLOSS finishes.
The exhibition explored how finish shapes the perception of colour. In ULTRA MATTE, colours appeared soft and absorbent. In HIGH GLOSS, the same colours became reflective and dynamic, changing character with light and movement. Together, the two finishes revealed colour as a material rather than decoration.
Alongside the paint collection, visitors were introduced to four of the first upcoming ceramic tiles developed with Formafantasma. Handmade in Italy using traditional methods, the tiles extend the palette into a tactile architectural surface.
Quiet in its expression yet rich in detail, the exhibition invited visitors to slow down and experience how colour, materiality and light shape the atmosphere of a space.
