La Bottega Italiana at 3daysofdesign 2026
Presented during 3daysofdesign 2026, Blēo's showroom at Borgergade 20 in Copenhagen became the setting for La Bottega Italiana, an exhibition developed in collaboration with Formafantasma. The exhibition explored the relationship between colour, finish and material through a new architectural paint collection and the first ceramic tiles from the collaboration.
At the centre of the exhibition was a palette of fourteen paint colours inspired by Italian craftsmanship, historic interiors and materials shaped by time. Applied as large architectural surfaces throughout the showroom, each colour was presented in both Blēo's ULTRA MATTE and HIGH GLOSS finishes, allowing visitors to experience how finish fundamentally changes the perception of colour.
Rather than presenting colour as decoration, the exhibition explored colour as a material in its own right. ULTRA MATTE absorbed light to create soft, mineral-like surfaces, while HIGH GLOSS reflected its surroundings, introducing depth, movement and changing reflections throughout the day.
Alongside the paint collection, the first ceramic tiles developed with Formafantasma were introduced. Handmade in Italy using traditional production methods, the tiles translated selected colours from the collection into architectural ceramic surfaces, extending the dialogue between paint, material and space.
