MATTE
Blēo's MATTE finish is a low-sheen paint developed for walls and ceilings, offering a smooth surface with a soft, subtle reflection. It balances visual depth with increased durability, creating a stable and refined surface suited to both residential and commercial interiors. Compared to our ULTRA MATTE finish, MATTE introduces a slight responsiveness to light, allowing colour to shift gently throughout the day while maintaining a calm overall expression.
What is MATTE paint
Our MATTE is a low-sheen paint finish with a sheen level of 5/6, designed to provide a uniform surface with a soft level of reflection. It sits between completely flat finishes and more reflective coatings, offering a balance between visual softness and practical performance. This makes it one of the most versatile finishes for interior walls.
When to choose MATTE
MATTE is well suited to spaces where a soft surface with a subtle level of reflection is desired. It offers a balance between visual calm and practical performance, making it appropriate for interiors that experience regular use, including higher-traffic environments such as restaurants, hospitality spaces, and family homes. The slight reflectivity allows colour to respond gently to changing light conditions without becoming overly reflective, while the durable and cleanable surface ensures it performs reliably over time.
Finish and performance
Blēo's MATTE combines a smooth, low-sheen appearance with a highly durable formulation. The surface is resistant to marking and can be cleaned gently without compromising its visual quality. This allows it to perform reliably in high-traffic interiors while maintaining a soft and balanced finish.
Colour and light
The low-sheen surface reflects a small amount of light, giving colours a slightly more dynamic quality compared to our ULTRA MATTE finish. This subtle reflectivity enhances clarity and allows tones to shift gently in response to changing light conditions, while still preserving depth and stability.
