At the Threshold of Rest by RYE during 3daysofdesign 2025 featuring Blēo colours throughout the installation.

RYE at 3daysofdesign 2025, Copenhagen

Presented during 3daysofdesign 2025, At the Threshold of Rest transformed a working parking garage in central Copenhagen into a sequence of quiet interiors exploring sleep, rest and contemplation.

Founded in Copenhagen, RYE creates handmade beds, mattresses and bedding with a focus on natural materials, craftsmanship and longevity. For the exhibition, furniture, artworks and found objects were arranged across a series of interconnected rooms, balancing the raw industrial setting with a calm and domestic atmosphere.

Blēo colours were applied across walls and ceilings using a palette spanning several designer collections. ES 25 Pale Air from Blēo Essentials, FO FA 14 Warm White by Formafantasma, BU ST 08 Yard Wheat by Bunn Studio and NO AR 01 Fading Forest Green by Norm Architects were painted in ULTRA MATTE, while JO PA 11 Cashmere by John Pawson was finished in MINERALS, introducing subtle texture to selected surfaces.

Rather than defining individual rooms, the colours connected the exhibition as a whole, allowing light, material and proportion to guide the experience. The restrained palette reinforced the installation's exploration of rest while demonstrating how carefully composed colour can shape architectural atmosphere.

The exhibition was conceived and curated by Kasia Sznajder, with exhibition and lighting design by Joanna Filipowska and Studio 0405.
