Tiles by Sabine Marcelis
— a dialogue of light and tone, tracing the movement between reflection, softness, and clarity

Tiles by Sabine Marcelis extend the designer’s long-standing exploration of light, colour, and glass into a new architectural context. The collection translates thirteen of Marcelis’s signature colours into luminous glass tiles, designed to pair seamlessly with her Saturated Palette paint collection for Blēo.

Available in two distinct finishes: a frosted matte that diffuses light with quiet softness, and a glossy surface that plays with reflection and clarity. Colour is applied to the reverse of the glass in a uniform layer, achieving perfect consistency while the material’s translucency adds a sense of depth — grounded in stone, yet elevated by light.

Each tile is defined by its precise edge detailing — straight, bevelled, and calibrated within a single continuous form. The straight cut preserves a clean architectural line; the soft bevel catches light along the perimeter, adding quiet definition; and the calibrated finish ensures perfect alignment across every surface. Together, these elements create a refined edge profile that feels both exact and tactile, a meeting of craft and precision.

The collection unfolds with a spectrum of possibilities. A single finish can form a calm monochrome field, while the interplay between FROSTED MATTE and GLOSSY surfaces introduces subtle shifts in tone, texture, and atmosphere.

Tiles by Sabine Marcelis are suited to a wide range of architectural applications — from bathrooms and kitchens to outdoor areas, pools, and interior spaces throughout the home. The tiles may be used on walls and ceilings, and selected floor areas, depending on finish and context. Available in three classic formats — 10×10 cm, 10×20 cm, and 10×30 cm — the tiles adapt effortlessly to walls, ceilings, floors and bespoke architectural compositions. Crafted to order with precision and care, Tiles by Sabine Marcelis are more than surfaces — they are a material language for shaping space through colour, light, and reflection.

Produced in Italy, within a region whose glassmaking tradition dates back to the thirteenth century, each tile is made by skilled artisans using time-honoured techniques refined through decades of experimentation. The result is a material that feels both precise and alive — where colour gains depth and finish becomes a language of its own. Each piece is made to order, combining Italian craftsmanship with Sabine Marcelis’s distinctive colour sensibility and Blēo’s pursuit of purity in surface and tone.

Paint and Tiles by Sabine Marcelis. Thirteen colours. Two materials. One language of light.

Sabine Marcelis extends her exploration of colour and perception into a unified system for Blēo — one palette for paint, one for glass tiles. Each consists of thirteen precisely tuned tones that move between opacity and luminosity, reflection and depth. While each collection stands complete on its own, they are conceived to work together — allowing colour to flow seamlessly across surface and scale. The palette is mirrored across both materials to create coherence and ease. Though paint and glass absorb and reflect light differently, each tone has been carefully calibrated to maintain harmony between the two.

The result is not imitation, but translation — colour interpreted through light, pigment, and material. This dual collection offers designers freedom: to build quiet monochromes, subtle gradations, or dynamic contrasts that shift with light and time. Whether matte or reflective, every surface becomes part of a larger composition — one where colour is not applied, but embodied.

With paint and tiles by Sabine Marcelis for Blēo, colour becomes atmosphere — a balance of clarity, reflection, and warmth that shapes the emotion of space.
