Muller Van Severen

Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen’s work—better known as Muller Van Severen—were both started as artists, their work naturally positioned somewhere between design and art. The duo creates sculpturally interesting ‘furniture objects’ with the space around it in mind, inspired by their shared passion for art, architecture and materials. Simultaneously, their designs appear to be created almost intuitively, with total effortlessness, as if the designers were drawing with crayons in space. Found in homes as well as large-scale institutions, Muller Van Severen's own production pieces are handmade by small-scale fabricators and skilled artisans, with an honesty to the rawness and irregularity of the chosen material.

Core Collection

For their personal palette, Core Collection, The Belgian design duo Muller Van Severen chose 14 idiosyncratic colours they use in their furniture and objects. You know one when you see one. Core Collection is exactly what it says on the tin—their core colours—colours they return to time and time again in their work. Colours that make up the fabric of their designs.
