About
Based in Brittany, France, Ronan Bouroullec is recognised as one of the leading voices in contemporary design. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with many of the world's foremost design companies, including Vitra, Artek, HAY, Kvadrat, Flos, Mattiazzi and Magis, creating furniture, lighting, textiles and objects that have become contemporary design classics.
His work is characterised by an intuitive yet highly refined approach to form. Moving effortlessly between industrial production, craftsmanship, drawing and public art, Bouroullec continuously explores how objects relate to architecture and how people inhabit the spaces around them. Rather than pursuing a recognisable style, each project evolves through observation, experimentation and a deep understanding of materials.
Colour has always played a central role in his practice. Inspired by the changing light, coastline and landscapes of Brittany, Bouroullec works with palettes that feel natural, atmospheric and quietly expressive. Rather than dominating a space, his colours are intended to evolve with daylight and surrounding materials, creating interiors that feel both calm and alive.
For Blēo, Ronan Bouroullec has developed a collection inspired by these observations. The palette moves through soft yellows, muted pinks, layered greys and deep greens, reflecting his belief that colour should quietly shape atmosphere while remaining closely connected to architecture, light and everyday life.
