A bathroom in a 19th-century farmhouse near Copenhagen

In the 19th-century farmhouse of photographer Katrine Møbius, just outside Copenhagen, the bathroom brings together simple architecture, natural light and handmade surfaces. The room retains the understated character of the house while colour gives the small space a distinct identity.

The shower walls are covered in MU SE 08 Vanilla Tile by Muller Van Severen, a warm, creamy tone that softly reflects the changing daylight. On the floor, MU SE 12 Green Tile from the same collection introduces a deep, saturated green, creating a strong yet natural contrast with the lighter walls.

Handmade in Morocco using traditional zellige techniques, the tiles carry subtle variations in colour, glaze and surface. These irregularities bring depth and tactility to the simple chequered grid, allowing light to move differently across each tile. Paired with chrome fittings, a dark wooden mirror and the restrained architecture of the room, the two colours create a bathroom that feels both timeless and distinctly personal.
