Josef Albers launch at Designmusem Danmark during 3daysofdesign, 2024
Launching the Josef Albers Color Interactions created in collaboration with The Josef and Anni Albers Foundation with the help of Ambra Medda of AMO, we, at 3daysofdesign, invited visitors to the Designmuseum Danmark in Copenhagen. Here it was possible to discover the 29 colours — how the colours have been made, and then applied in practice. Albers himself was present too, through archival video footage playing throughout the day.
The Josef Albers Color Interactions reinterprets Albers's pioneering literary work, Interaction of Color, translating his influential plates into a vivid interior experience.
Fittingly situated in the historic Banquet Hall at the museum, we set up a workshop enabling people to interact with the 29 colours in an intimate and intuitive way, cutting painted paper, and combining the colours according to Josef Albers’s generous principles. The first many visitors left with the Foundation's newly published Interacting with Color - a Practical Guide to Josef Albers's Color Experiments. The essence of Josef Albers’s original master piece, Interaction of Color, now in a format that engages learners of all ages and levels and encourages a hands-on approach to colours.
