Blēo Essentials 02 Dark Raw Lava Stone by Blēo
A deep grey volcanic basalt with a denser expression and naturally occurring mineral markings. Rich in tone yet neutral in character, it provides a strong architectural presence while allowing the stone's natural structure and geological history to remain visible.
Raw Lava Stone is made to order by a second-generation family workshop at the foot of Mount Etna in Sicily, with a typical lead time of 3–6 weeks. Formed by volcanic activity over thousands of years, each piece of natural basalt displays unique variations in colour, mineral composition and surface markings. Samples, bespoke formats and project-specific enquiries are available on request. Please contact Blēo for further information.

    Raw Lava Stone

Raw Lava Stone is a collection of natural volcanic basalt extracted from the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily and processed by a second-generation family workshop in southern Italy. Available in Light Raw Lava and Dark Raw Lava, the collection offers a durable architectural surface suitable for walls, floors, wet areas, and bespoke applications. Formed by volcanic activity over thousands of years, each tile features natural mineral variation, making every installation unique.

Alongside our collaborations with architects, designers and artists, Blēo Essentials brings together a growing collection of architectural materials selected for their longevity, craftsmanship and enduring relevance. While our collaborators explore colour, material and new perspectives, Blēo Essentials focuses on surfaces that have shaped architecture for generations.

Each collection is dedicated to a single material, from handmade terracotta and volcanic lava stone to future additions. Rather than reinventing these materials, our ambition is to source the finest examples, produced by specialist manufacturers whose knowledge and expertise have been refined over generations.
