A warmer alternative to white — still neutral, yet gently radiant. In FROSTED MATTE, it appears softened and subdued, diffusing light with quiet restraint. In GLOSSY, the tone gains clarity and warmth, becoming a luminous counterpart within a white or neutral composition.

    Tiles by Sabine Marcelis

Tiles by Sabine Marcelis translate the designer’s iconic palette of thirteen signature colours into glass — a material defined by light, tone, and depth. Each tile becomes a vessel for colour and atmosphere, expressed through two distinct finishes that embody Marcelis’s refined material sensibility: FROSTED MATTE, which softens and diffuses light with quiet depth, and GLOSSY, which reflects with luminous clarity. The colour is applied to the reverse of the glass, ensuring perfect consistency while the material’s translucency reveals delicate layers of tone. Produced in Italy, Tiles by Sabine Marcelis offer an ever-shifting dialogue between softness, reflection, and light.

Sabine Marcelis is an artist and designer who runs her practice from the harbor of Rotterdam, the Netherlands. A graduate from the Design Academy of Eindhoven in 2011, Marcelis is known for her distinctive perspective on materiality. Hers are pure forms that highlight material qualities, often made in close collaboration with industrial manufacturers. This method enables her to intervene in the manufacturing process, thereby achieving new and surprising visual effects for projects showcased in leading institutions and commissioned by commercial clients. Sabine’s designs are true sensorial experiences, where experience becomes function, with a refined and singular aesthetic.
