Apartment in Marseille, France
In Marseille, France, a private apartment has been transformed through a single, continuous colour. From floor to ceiling, the interior is painted in Blēo’s ULTRA MATTE finish in JO PA 05 Flour by John Pawson. The colour moves across walls and ceilings, creating a calm and unified atmosphere where the architecture feels softened, but still precise. Flour is a warm white with a subtle mineral quality. It sits naturally in southern European light, never too cold, never too sharp, and brings a soft clarity to the apartment. In the bright light of Marseille, the colour gives the rooms a sense of warmth, stillness and ease.
The apartment was designed by architect Hugo Dupond, who used the continuous painted surface to create a simple and enveloping interior. Rather than separating each plane, the colour allows the space to be read as one calm volume, formed by light, proportion and material restraint.
