Sail Away by AMO at Milan Design Week 2026, Salone

At Milan Design Week 2026, AMO presents Sail Away, a collaborative exhibition by Leda Athanasopoulou and Yumo Yuan.

Working at the intersection of design, craft, and culture, AMO brings together practices rooted in tradition yet open to reinterpretation. Sail Away explores a shared visual language across Greek and Chinese cultures, where recurring motifs, ships, grapes, shells, carry meanings of journey, protection, and continuity. Leda Athanasopoulou draws on ceramic traditions from Lesvos, while Yumo Yuan translates archival textile fragments into soft, layered compositions that merge Chinese folk aesthetics with Hellenic imagery. Together, they present craft as a living practice shaped by memory, exchange, and time.

Blēo’s colours frame the exhibition. The walls are painted in our MINERALS by John Pawson, in colour JO PA 05 Flour, while wooden elements are finished in JAAF 21 Plate XVII-3 by Josef Albers. These two colours create a quiet, sun-washed atmosphere, lending the space a distinctly Greek sensibility where light, material, and tradition come into balance.
