Sail Away by AMO at Milan Design Week 2026

Presented during Milan Design Week 2026, Sail Away brought together ceramic artist Leda Athanasopoulou and textile designer Yumo Yuan in an exhibition exploring the shared visual language of Greek and Chinese craft traditions. Curated by AMO, the exhibition reflected on how objects, symbols and making traditions travel across cultures while continually evolving through time.

Throughout the exhibition, Blēo's architectural colours formed a quiet framework for the works on display. Walls were finished in JO PA 05 Flour from John Pawson's MINERALS collection, creating soft, mineral surfaces that responded gently to changing daylight. Wooden display elements were painted in JAAF 21 Plate XVII-3 from the Josef Albers Color Interactions collection, introducing subtle contrast while reinforcing the dialogue between material, craftsmanship and colour.

Together, the palette established a restrained, sun-washed atmosphere inspired by Mediterranean light, allowing ceramics, textiles and handcrafted objects to remain at the centre of the exhibition. Rather than acting as a backdrop, colour became part of the spatial composition, connecting architecture, material and craft into a unified experience.
