A Study in Form and Balance for ARK Journal

A Study in Form and Balance for ARK Journal

Created for ARK Journal Volume XIII, the interior explores form, proportion and restraint through a limited palette of warm wood and nuanced neutral tones.

The setting reflects the issue’s theme of obsession and its role in creative practice: the repeated attention to detail, refinement and process that allows an idea to develop over time. Simple lines and carefully considered objects create an interior defined by balance and precision.

The walls are painted in JO PA 04 Cotton by John Pawson for Blēo. The warm, understated neutral complements the different tones of wood while providing a consistent backdrop throughout the space. Its subtle character allows changes in daylight, texture and form to remain visible without introducing additional contrast.
