Established in 1970 and incorporated in 1987, Margaret Howell Limited is an internationally recognised design company. A strong and quiet presence in British design for over five decades, Margaret Howell has forged her very own brand of clothing characterised by simplicity, subtle details, and fine fabrics. She continues to work with many of the British heritage manufacturers and suppliers that she worked with since the very beginning of her career.

A designer who finds great meaning in rugged landscapes and wild nature, Howell's surroundings have always influenced her work. The ever-changing light and subtlety of colour over rural parts of the British coastline never fails to inspire her. Coastline palette is nine muted, natural colours that loom present throughout decades of Howell’s designs.
