John Pawson MINERALS
John Pawson is internationally recognised for a singular design language defined by minimalism, clarity, and a deep emotional connection to space. With his MINERALS palette, this philosophy is distilled into colour — subtle, architectural, and quietly transformative.
At the heart of Pawson’s work lies a fascination with simplicity — not as absence, but as presence. Every element is intentional, and every shade is purposeful. His palette for MINERALS is an extension of this vision: a carefully curated range of soft neutrals and light tones, rooted in the belief that white is never just white. Instead, it becomes a field of infinite nuance — warm or cool, matte or luminous, shifting gently with light and surface.
Inspired by the natural world and the meditative stillness of architectural space, these colours do not dominate. They support. They recede. They allow materials, texture, and form to take centre stage. The finishes are dead matte, enhancing the mineral quality of the surface while creating a sense of calm depth and tactility.
Each shade in the MINERALS collection was developed in close collaboration with Pawson to be as close to his Whitescale palette as can be, and reflects his instinctive understanding of how colour behaves in space — how it settles, how it fades, how it changes over time. From pale stone to soft clay, the palette sits effortlessly within both contemporary and historic architecture, revealing its strength through restraint.
More than a colour collection, this is a reflection of a worldview: that simplicity, when shaped with precision and care, becomes its own kind of richness.
