Portrait of Cecilie Bahnsen for Scandinavian colour house Blēo

Cecilie Bahnsen

Cecilie Bahnsen is a Danish fashion designer based in Copenhagen. Since founding her eponymous label in 2015, she has become internationally recognised for combining couture techniques with Scandinavian simplicity, creating collections that balance romance, craftsmanship and everyday wearability.

About

After working with John Galliano and designing costumes for the Royal Danish Theatre, Cecilie Bahnsen established her own fashion label in Copenhagen in 2015. Her work has become recognised for its distinctive balance of sculptural silhouettes, refined craftsmanship and a contemporary approach to femininity.

Each collection combines traditional couture techniques with practical everyday dressing, encouraging garments to be worn, layered and interpreted over time. Rather than following seasonal trends, Bahnsen's work explores longevity, versatility and emotional connection through carefully considered materials, construction and colour.

This same sensitivity informs her collaboration with Blēo. Her colour collection reflects the contrasts found throughout her fashion practice, pairing soft, understated tones with deeper accents to create interiors that feel calm, expressive and quietly unexpected.
