David Thulstrup

David Thulstrup is a Danish architect and designer based in Copenhagen. Working across architecture, interiors and furniture, his practice is recognised for creating calm, enduring spaces where material, light and proportion come together through a distinctly contemporary Scandinavian approach.

About

Founded in Copenhagen, David Thulstrup's studio works internationally across residential, hospitality, retail and cultural projects. His architecture is characterised by clarity, longevity and an honest use of materials, creating interiors that feel both understated and deeply connected to the people who inhabit them.

Drawing on Scandinavian design traditions while embracing a contemporary architectural language, Thulstrup approaches every project holistically. Architecture, interiors, furniture and objects are developed as part of one coherent composition, where colour, light, proportion and materials are considered together from the earliest stages of the design process.

His work is guided by a belief that architecture should support everyday life through simplicity, warmth and permanence rather than decoration. Natural materials, carefully balanced proportions and subtle tonal palettes create spaces that feel calm, tactile and timeless.

For Blēo, David Thulstrup translates this architectural philosophy into colour, developing a collection that reflects his interest in natural light, restrained tones and surfaces that quietly support the atmosphere of a space rather than dominate it.

Complere by David Thulstrup

Architect David Thulstrup has developed a palette of 11 dark, earthy, and contrasting colours that transform spaces into unique environments that reflect personality, a sense of place and timelessness. Complere can be used to highlight specific architectural features or whole spaces, or to create striking colour schemes by connecting the surrounding landscape and exterior elements with interior design and objects.
