Glazed terracotta

Glazed tiles by Yvonne Koné are suitable for everyday interior use and can be cleaned regularly using mild soap and water or a neutral pH cleaner. Use a soft cloth or sponge and rinse with clean water to maintain the surface and depth of colour. Avoid products containing strong acids, alkalis or abrasives, as these may dull or damage the glaze over time. With simple, consistent care, the glazed surface will retain its clarity and material presence.

Unglazed, raw terracotta (YV KO 18 Burned)

The unglazed terracotta tile is left in its raw, fired state and retains the natural porosity of clay. As a result, it requires a more considered approach to care. The surface should be protected with an appropriate stone or terracotta sealer before use, particularly in areas exposed to moisture or staining. Clean gently using minimal water and a neutral pH cleaner, and dry the surface after washing. Avoid acidic or highly alkaline products, and remove spills promptly to prevent absorption. Over time, the material will develop a natural patina, reflecting its raw and honest character.
