Można Zwariować Therapeutic Clinic in Warsaw

Located in a historic building at Marszałkowska 140 in Warsaw, the first therapeutic clinic for the Można Zwariować Foundation was designed by Thisispaper Studio as a warm and welcoming alternative to conventional clinical environments. Founded by Ania Cyklińska and Cleo Ćwiek, Można Zwariować grew from their work around mental health and wellbeing into a physical space for therapy, conversation and care.

Designed by Zuzanna Gąsior of Thisispaper Studio, the project transformed a former law office while working carefully within the constraints of the conservation-protected building. The original arrangement of four symmetrical rooms and a central corridor was retained, while new architectural interventions gave the interior an entirely different character. A structural pillar was reshaped as an elliptical column, becoming a sculptural element that draws the spaces together around a central living room conceived as the heart of the clinic.

Colour plays an important role in softening the architecture and establishing continuity throughout the interior. YV KO 01 Putty and YV KO 05 Linen by Yvonne Koné for Blēo introduce warm, nuanced tones that sit naturally alongside timber, textiles, furniture and carefully selected artworks. Rather than creating the institutional atmosphere often associated with therapeutic spaces, the restrained palette contributes to an interior that feels domestic, considered and approachable.

Through architecture, colour, lighting and material, Thisispaper Studio has created a therapeutic environment centred on comfort and human connection. The result demonstrates how thoughtful interior design and architectural colour can contribute to spaces dedicated to wellbeing without sacrificing character or individuality.
