Griegst × Royal Copenhagen at 3daysofdesign
To mark the relaunch of Arje Griegst’s iconic Triton collection with Royal Copenhagen during 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen, the Griegst showroom was transformed using the Transition palette developed by Griegst for Blēo. The exhibition celebrated the enduring legacy of one of Denmark’s most visionary designers, bringing together porcelain, colour and architecture in an immersive spatial experience.
Throughout the showroom, walls and ceilings were painted in Griegst 08 Spine, creating a calm architectural backdrop for the exhibition. In the main gallery, Griegst 03 Swirl, Griegst 04 Naughty Boy, Griegst 05 Merman and Griegst 10 Plaster were applied by hand as flowing bands across the walls, reinterpreting an original Arje Griegst wallpaper inspired by the texture and rhythm of a tree trunk. The historic motif was translated into a contemporary expression where colour became part of the architecture itself.
Rather than serving as decoration, the painted surfaces became an integral part of the exhibition design. The layered colours echoed the organic forms, mythology and natural references found throughout Griegst’s work, creating an atmospheric setting where colour, architecture and Royal Copenhagen’s porcelain collection merged into a single narrative.
In the adjoining showroom, Griegst 07 Lia introduces a soft green inspired by the delicate tones of a Danish forest in bloom. Together, the six colours demonstrate how the Transition palette can shape immersive interiors while reflecting Griegst’s poetic universe through carefully curated architectural colour.
