Alethia Psychology Practice in Copenhagen
A former apartment in central Copenhagen has been reconfigured by Ark Forma as a psychology practice for Alethia. Rather than following the conventions of a clinical environment, the interior retains elements of a domestic setting, using colour, natural surfaces and tactile elements to create a warm and considered atmosphere.
Ark Forma is a Copenhagen-based design practice working across exhibition, interior and furniture design. Their site-specific approach responds to the existing character of a space, allowing architecture, objects and surfaces to form part of a coherent interior.
At Alethia, colour is used to differentiate the individual rooms while maintaining continuity throughout the practice. Walls are painted in JO PA 04 Cotton by John Pawson for Blēo, providing a consistent, warm-toned backdrop across the interior.
The ceilings introduce a series of different colours, all applied in Blēo Ultra Matte. JAAF 16 Plate VI-3 by Josef Albers, BE PO 08 Blender by Bertjan Pot, HA RO 12 Faux Wood by Halleroed and BU ST 06 Oiled Oak by Bunn Studio create subtle shifts between the rooms. The low-reflective finish gives the ceiling surfaces a soft appearance while allowing each colour to establish a distinct atmosphere.
Together, the palette introduces colour as an architectural element within the psychology practice, creating variation between spaces while retaining an overall sense of continuity.
