Scented in Glasgow, Scotland

Since 2025, Scented is a new fragrance concept store in Glasgow. Conceived as a calm alternative to the department store, Scented champions niche and independent fragrance from around the world and approaches scent as a sensory landscape rather than a retail category. Perfumes are curated by olfactory families instead of by brand, offering a more intuitive way of navigating contemporary fragrance. Visitors are invited to take a seat at the bar for guided sessions, where recommendations are shaped by scent character rather than label.

Located within the Italian Centre, a rare post-modern, piazza-like space hidden behind classical façades, the interior draws on the faded yellow tones of the surrounding architecture. A palette of soft whites was developed to articulate the store’s sculptural forms and recesses, using subtle tonal shifts to introduce depth and quiet contrast. Selected off-whites for the walls and ceiling include MU SE 08 Vanilla, JO PA 06 Milk, and JO PA 07 Vellum.

The central bar is clad in Tiles by Muller Van Severen in MU SE 03 Mint and MU SE 08 Vanilla, paired with a stainless-steel worktop. Behind it, a painted silver surface in CE BA 11 Jeorge Silver echoes the form of the bar, introducing reflection and texture. Together, colour, tile, and light create a restrained yet sensorial environment, where surface becomes atmosphere.
