Colour Interactions at Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair in London

For Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair 2024 in London, Wrong Shop and Blēo created a colour installation based on the work of Josef Albers and his study of colour interaction.

The stand was painted in JAAF 11 Plate VI-3 and JAAF 12 Plate VI-3, a green and a pink from the Josef Albers Color Interactions Palette. Developed by Blēo in partnership with the Josef & Anni Albers Foundation, the colours are hand-mixed translations of plates from Albers’ Interaction of Color, translating his studies of chromatic relationships into architectural paint.

Used together across the exhibition space, the two colours demonstrate a central principle of Albers’ work: that the perception of a colour changes according to the colours surrounding it.

Wrong Shop is a London-based platform founded by Sebastian Wrong in 2011, producing and presenting limited-edition prints, posters and objects by international artists and designers. Working between art and design, the platform collaborates with practitioners across disciplines and brings their work into new formats and contexts.

Sebastian Wrong is a designer and creative director whose practice spans furniture, lighting, manufacturing and exhibition projects. With a background in fine art, his work frequently operates between art, design and production.
