aarticles — Collection 01 at Blēo
Blēo hosted the debut of aarticles, a new shoppable gallery founded by Kasia Sznajder (brand strategist and creative consultant working across design, food, and culture) and Fred Aartun (art director and curator with a background in design and material-led communication), presenting Collection 01, a study in material, process, and presence. Working between design, art direction, and curatorial practice, the founders share a deep sensitivity to atmosphere and form. Their vision for aarticles is rooted in dialogue — between object and space, craft and concept, the made and the found.
The presentation at Blēo unfolded as a quiet study in continuity: metal, wood, clay, wool, and light explored through casting, carving, building, polishing, and weaving. Hand-forged objects and handwoven wool reliefs by Agnieszka Owisiany sat alongside wine compositions by Anna Fiedler, metal works by Yeodong Yun, ceramic vessels by Shane Gabier, and pieces by Christian + Jade, Louie Isaaman-Jones, J. Hannah, Terpsichore Savvala, as well as works by aarticles’ founders. Together, the objects formed a dialogue between thought and gesture, composition and care, a common language of making.
The campaign for Collection 01 was inspired by museum displays, using coloured textile backdrops to create a sense of depth. For the physical launch, that expression was translated into Blēo’s space, whose natural light, tall shelving, and warm character made it an ideal setting. A few tones from the Greigst collection were chosen for their soft, powdery presence, while a beige from Andrew Trotter’s palette grounded the composition with quiet strength.
Within Blēo’s chromatic architecture, Collection 01 became both a study and an invitation, a conversation between material, light, and colour.
